Help us, help you! A virus you won’t mind spreading…

Posted by Kira on December 19, 2009

Winter break has just begun, so we’re celebrating the day with a planning meeting. We are planning our BETA test right now, to be launched this spring. BETA testers will receive free apps in exchange for giving us valuable feedback on our products. Today we are writing a survey designed to understand the plight of teachers today from specific point of view- how time and money spent planning for lessons impacts their lives. What people don’t understand about teaching is this- when teachers are at school, most of their “contracted” time is spent in front of students. There is simply not enough time in the day to plan for lessons, create materials, shop for materials, do research, make powerpoints and keynotes, read magazines, journals and books, engage in forums and social groups for teachers, and all the other things we do to be great at teaching. The next time someone tells me I have it good because I am “off” during the summer, I will remind them that I do a LOT of unpaid overtime during the school year- 10-20 hours a week in fact. I consider summer as “comp-time” for the hours I work each week. LessonPops are designed to save teachers time and money, so we want to know how you feel about those issues. Please help us by taking our survey and spreading this link to all your teacher friends! This will only take 2-3 minutes of your time. Thanks so much!
