Texas Social Studies Standards Rewrite History?

I read an article in the Washington Post by Valerie Strauses (Texas 2-step around the truth) that, as an American and as a teacher, scared the crap out of me.  Now this really bothers me so excuse the tone, but apparently Texas is rewriting history to suit its religious ultraconservative majority school board.  In a nut shell, Texas’ social studies standards will now refer to “capitalism” as the “free enterprise system” and the the U.S. slave trade will now be called the “Atlantic triangular trade.”  Are they kidding me?  What is next?
