Like it or not, most students have more familiarity with digital devices and Web 2.0 than the adults in their lives. The time has come for teachers to take the lead in educating students about what the internet and cyberspace have to offer- the good, and the bad. The need for integrity at all times has become paramount, as almost everyone has a camera phone that can snap photos, video and audio at any time, and those bits of digital information can end up anywhere from YouTube to Facebook, and beyond. In our experience and research, we have begun to notice that many students have not had educational conversations about what it means to be a Digital Citizen.
